Theater Classes

Grand Blanc Youth Arts is partnering up with local theater teachers to offer music theater classes for children in the community. Children will develop acting, drama, and singing skills through various music theater numbers that will be showcased in a public performance for friends, family, and community members.

Drumline

The GBYA drumline is a percussion ensemble that features the standard drumline instruments that you see in most high school marching bands but is open to elementary and middle school students. Children will learn to read and perform basic rhythms and drum rudiments on their specific drums. They will collaborate with the entire ensemble to play fun drumline arrangements that they will share with the community through public performances.

The GBYA ArtLab provides a fantastic opportunity for students to explore their creativity in a supportive and inspiring environment. Each class is designed to build important artistic skills like drawing, painting, and crafting, while encouraging self-expression and confidence. Students will enjoy hands-on projects that not only develop their technique but also spark their imagination, resulting in unique works of art they can be proud of. Whether new to art or looking to sharpen their talents, these classes offer something fun and rewarding for every young artist.​

Get ready to paint with your paws! In this colorful class, kids will finger-paint an adorable dog on canvas and create dazzling art glasses decorated with rhinestones and glitter to complete their masterpiece.

9/25/25

Students will craft a playful pop-up triangle landscape from folded paper, with the freedom to make it as realistic or wildly abstract as they wish.

10/2/25

Students will sketch bold designs with permanent markers, then add vibrant, textured backgrounds using colorful ink daubers on foil. The result is a unique layered artwork that combines striking lines with bright pops of color.

10/9/25

Students will explore the magic of watercolors while creating a fractured pumpkin masterpiece inspired by fall. Students will experiment with techniques, learn about value, shape, and color, and leave with a finished work of art.

10/16/25

Kids will design their own adorable (and slightly spooky!) glow-in-the-dark ghost pets in jars, crafting friendly little spirits with glowing personalities for Halloween fun or year-round whimsy.

Get ready for a blast of creativity! In this fun class, kids will use India ink to create bold, flowing designs with blow art, then add doodles and patterns to transform their work into a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

Twist, roll, and swirl colorful paper strips into amazing shapes and designs as you learn the magical art of paper quilling to create eye-catching works of art.

Celebrate the colors of fall by creating vibrant leaf prints bursting with rich reds, purples, and golds—perfect for capturing the magic of autumn in your own artistic masterpiece!

Please double check you've selected the correct classes you want. Once you submit the form, you will be directed to checkout. A copy of your registration form will be sent to your email. Upon payment, a receipt will be sent to the email associated with your payment type.

You may sign up for as many or as few classes as you want. You may come back later to sign up for additional classes. Each class has a maximum of 20 students.
