Theater Classes

Grand Blanc Youth Arts is partnering up with local theater teachers to offer music theater classes for children in the community. Children will develop acting, drama, and singing skills through various music theater numbers that will be showcased in a public performance for friends, family, and community members.

Drumline

The GBYA drumline is a percussion ensemble that features the standard drumline instruments that you see in most high school marching bands but is open to elementary and middle school students. Children will learn to read and perform basic rhythms and drum rudiments on their specific drums. They will collaborate with the entire ensemble to play fun drumline arrangements that they will share with the community through public performances.

GBYA Violin Studio
Level 1 Lessons

4th & 5th Grades

The GBYA Violin Studio welcomes 4th and 5th graders to our "Level 1" violin lessons designed just for beginners! Students will learn how to properly care for their instrument, hold it and the bow correctly, and play simple songs using open strings—both plucking and bowing. They’ll also explore basic finger placement, bow control, and work on reading music notation. By the end, participants will be ready to share a few fun, simple songs in a performance.

Each participant will be provided with a violin on loan for the duration of the course, allowing them to practice and develop their skills at home. Students who already own a violin are welcome to use their own instead.
